Parikrama to write a song for Microsoft

Submitted by Karthik on 19 November, 2005 - 12:06

Just learned from their mailing list that Parikrama, India's lone flame in the land of rock, are apparently going to be writing and performing a song for Microsoft to help launch 3 new products - Visual Studio 2005, MSSQL server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006. And there apparently might be a video made as well..

oh and apparently Gill Bates is going to be there with bells on for the show :P

While their site initially said that the song will be available only on Dec 9 [during the launch], it's been posted up on the M$ site a good ten days early :)

P.S I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you :-( Sounds like something put together in a coupla days.. oh wait.. that's exactly what's happened :S No comment on the lyrics lol *sheesh*

The first line of the chorus reminds me of The Eagles' Tequila Sunrise..

Anyways, don't want to come across as dissing the band as their older stuff speaks for itself. Check out they music downloads page. Some good 'uns ther, especially "Load up" which is my track of choice :)

"Afternoon comes when everyone eats,
Staring down at lines on his L.C.D screen,
Cracking up the code, faster than the speed of light.

Evening bells ringing, had to meet his date,
Digits on his hand will have to make her wait,
Smiles at his phone, then tosses it aside."

lol! I'm sure they thought long and hard on their lyrics :-D

haha
