<a href="http://www.tataindicom.com/">Tata Indicom</a> is the moniker under which the <a href="http://www.tata.com/">Tata Group</a> offers telecom services throughout the country, with <a href="http://www.tataindicombroadband.com/">Tata Indicom Broadband</a> being the brand under which broadband services are offered. The Tata group's Internet arm primarily runs off <a href="http://www.vsnl.in/">VSNL</a>, which until a few years back, was wholly owned by the Government Of India.
<p>In early 2004, VSNL acquired Dishnet DSL's Internet Business, and marked its entry into the Broadband market. VSNL later pipped Reliance in its <a href="http://www.internetnews.com/infra/article.php/3497611">acquisition</a> of Tyco Global Network</a> and its 60,000 km submarine cable network.</p>
